As someone with no desire or ability to go near the places the author goes, I was taken on his journey while remaining in the safety of reading the book.
My understanding of the situation there was minimal.What men face as they try to stop the reign of terror on civilians living there, is beyond my imagination. I appreciate knowing more, understanding the job the men serving there do and appreciate the skills, bravery and self discipline needed to accomplish the missions they undertook and come out alive.
"Self discipline equals freedom" is a Jocko Willink quote that will stay with me forever.
